“Punch up! is a unique club concept, offering

a surprising, thought-provoking, restless,

mouth-watering queer carnival to audiences

as well as performers.”

 “Punch up! is more than just a club;

for that evening, it’s your family.”

A fierce variety show filled with drag, stand-up

comedy, rap, burlesque, and anything else queer

enough to delight, enrage, and inspire.

The show is produced by MIRA ESKELINEN, JAMES LÓRIEN MACDONALD, and

JUUSO KEKKONEN, who also perform at each show, joined by a changing roster of

3-4 local and international artists. Started in 2018 at Mad House Helsinki, Punch

Up has gone on to be a regular feature at Korjaamo in Helsinki, as well as in Pori

and Tampere, and collaborated with YLE Kioski in 2019.

In 2021 Punch Up! was awarded Vuoden Teatteriteko (Action of the Year)

by the Theatre Centre of Finland.
