Catering services
Bengtsår camp island operates a climate menu. The majority of food’s environmental impact stems from primary production, i.e. the cultivation of plants and rearing of animals. The production of animal-based food places a particularly heavy burden on the environment. Through the climate menu, we want to highlight the fact that everyone should be aware of the impact their diet has on the climate.

Food deliveries
At dinner time, each camp is provided with basic ingredients for preparing breakfast and evening snacks, which are topped up during the camp. Meals for the camps are prepared in the kitchen and delivered separately to the camp sites for the camps to serve themselves. On the main island, campers’ meals are transported to the camp areas, and the containers used for the previous meal are collected at the same time. Lunch is delivered between 11.00 and 11.30, and dinner between 16.00 and 16.30. Campers at Barnholm and Aspholm collect their meals from the collection point at the boathouse, where the food is delivered in heated containers: lunch at 11.30 and dinner at 16.30.
Transport services
The island ferry operates daily from 1 June to 11 August, except on Midsummer’s Day at 8.45 and 14.50. Departure times are from the main beach on the island, and the ferry arrives on the mainland approximately 10 minutes later. The ferry departs for the return journey immediately after docking on the mainland. All camps arriving on and departing from the island must arrange their arrival and departure timetables, as well as any other specific transport requirements, separately. Motorboats intended for use by the camps are stored at the island’s main jetty. These boats are used for small-scale transport within the camps and can be hired through the island’s information point (in the same way as other equipment). The boats available for hire are fitted with electric outboard motors, and instructions on their use are always provided before they are handed over to the camps. For further information on transport during the summer, please call: 050 559 1729
