Introduction

Camping activities since 1948! The scenic island has seven separate camping areas with tent areas, great hiking grounds and good services.

The Bengtsår camping island is mainly used by youth centres, youth organisations, government agencies and sports clubs.

Valuable nature

Bengtsår is part of the magnificent Gulf of Finland inner archipelago and has varied natural areas. The southern part of the island includes a precious herb-rich forest, which belongs to the national herb-rich forest conservation programme. The island’s oak and lime tree forests are natural forests, and some of the oaks are over a hundred years old. The island has a 17-hectare conservation area.

Serious efforts have been made to preserve the paradise-like nature of Bengtsår, and campers on the island are also reminded to pay attention to nature preservation.
