Ideas, support and opportunities for meaningful activities

Our youth centres offer low‑threshold activities, and in addition we have locations where you can, for example, take care of animals or develop your own ideas through art education or activism.

Are you going on a trip but missing a backpack?
Come borrow one! The Wempaimisto outdoor gear lending sevice you at the Silmu Youth Activity House. Silmu organises activities as clubs, courses, events, workshops, and trips and camps — often together with Seikkailutalo.

Would you like to make an impact by writing about a topic that matters to you?
At Nuorten Ääni editorial office, young people produce newspaper articles, TV stories and blog posts for Finland’s major media outlets and spark social discussion on social media.

Have you always wanted to learn more about domestic animals or hug a cow?
You can do this at Fallkulla Domestic Animal Farm, located in Malmi. You can visit Fallkulla independently or sign up to do barn work and take care of the animals.

Are handicrafts your thing?
Would you like to learn to work with wood or silver? Luuppi’s Askis in Kontula offers a unique opportunity to work with recycled materials, for example. You can also explore the Värkkäämö in Kannelmäki or the visual arts activities in Lauttasaari.

Interested in gardening but not sure where to start?
Kumpula School Garden offers diverse activities for different age groups, including summer camps, school visits and events. During the summer, the ecological Café Raparperimeri also operates in the area, employing young people as summer workers.
