Kontula Youth Participation
Hi 12-17 years old young people! Do you want to make an impact, plan fun things and be involved in creating a homely, fun and safe feeling Mellunkylä and its areas Kontula, Kivikko, Vesala, Mellunmäki, Fallpakka, Kurkimäki and Östersundom? Come along to the youth center and participate, follow us on social media and come spend time together with other young people and youth workers! Tell your ideas about a better Mellunkylä and Östersundom, we’ll support and help bring your ideas forward. The city of Helsinki has many channels for young people to participate, you’ll find the method that suits you best here.
In addition to participating the youth center activities, young people can make their voices herd through the Youth Budget and Youth Council, which rotates year after year! Anyone can take part and make a difference<3

We promote youth matters during open youth evenings at youth centers, but also through initiatives and OmaStadi. We also send feedback, petitions, and letters to various actors!
Not all youth wishes go through by the Youth Budget, but luckily there are many ways and channels to get involved and make an impact! Be brave, use your voice, and share your ideas and wishes with us — we’ll help and support you.
