Booking the facilities of Malminkartano Recreation Hall
Booking Facilities for Events or Regular Use
The City of Helsinki offers various facilities suitable for different purposes at youth centers, camp centers, and other locations throughout the city. Youth groups, organizations, associations, and other operators can reserve these spaces for activities such as group meetings or camp programs. Regular bookings for youth services facilities, lasting over three months, are applied for once a year during the seasonal booking period. The next seasonal booking period for 2025-2026 begins on April 3, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
We no longer accept paper applications for facility use. To book spaces at the Malminkartano Activity Hall, you can check availability and make a reservation at tilavaraus.hel.fi. Note that only adults (18 years and older) can reserve facilities for independent use.
Guidelines for youth centers’ use
When reserving a facility, you are responsible for its supervision. Staff are generally not present on-site.
After receiving your booking confirmation, contact the youth center staff to arrange an orientation session. During the orientation, we will review the building’s safety guidelines, discuss the use of available equipment, and provide guidance on using any technical devices if needed. At the orientation, you will also receive keys or an access card to the facility.
Please note that multiple groups may be using the Recreation Hall simultaneously, and renting the entire hall for private use is possible only in exceptional cases. Simultaneous use of different areas means that shared spaces are available to all users.

Free use of the facilities is available for:
- Registered Helsinki-based organizations and associations.
- Independent group activities and civic activities organized by residents and communities of the city of Helsinki.
