Plenty to do for young people during the autumn break
There is plenty to do during the autumn break week in Helsinki. With more than 40 different ways to spend your autumn break, you will have no chance of getting bored. Most of the autumn break activities are free of charge, and even the paid activities are affordable.
Those hungry for adventure can test their skills in the Prison Island escape room game, where cleverness and teamwork skills are of great use. If you are in need of excitement, you can try the escape room game designed by young people at Kannelmäki Youth Centre, where you compete against time.
You can explore the wonders of the sea on a trip to Sea Life and learn about more than 150 animal species in the Korkeasaari Zoo. Those who want physical activities can head to the trampoline park to get their heart rate up, and animal lovers can take care of animals and have fun at the domestic animal camp in Valkeakoski or at the Fallkulla petting zoo.
Cledos live at Tiivistämö on Friday!
Cledos is one of the most interesting artists of the 2020s. His unique sound, original style and self-confident charisma have made Cledos one of the most closely followed people in the Finnish rap scene and one of the pioneers of the genre.
Cledos is known for his energetic performances and songs like “Made in Italy”, “TÄN KAA” and “KYSYMYS”. In August 2020, he released his debut album CEISSI, which topped the album chart and went platinum, as well as a short film of the same name. The stylish short film put the album on everyone’s lips, and the whole package brought the artist a nomination in the Artist of the Year category at the Emma Awards. Workshops and arts
Oulunkylä Youth Centre offers rainbow-coloured activities, such as an acrylic and watercolour painting workshop and cooking in the colours of the rainbow. At the Kanneltalo light workshop, you can join other young people to design a piece that will illuminate the darkest time of the year on Sitratori.
There will also be exciting times at Kallahti Youth Centre, where you can watch a fire circus show and try your hand at fire twirling. Oodi’s studio equipment course focuses on trying out and learning new things about music, and Tiivistämö’s DJ course allows you to improve your mixing, scratching and beat juggling skills.
Sports, games and fun things to do
There will be plenty of fun to be had at the Action Day Savela event in Pihlajamäki Youth Park. Planned and organised by young people, the action day offers all kinds of fun activities, such as bubble football, face painting, ping-pong, capture the flag and a bouncy castle, and there will also be a magician to bring a touch of magic to the day. The new Malminkartano Recreation Hall offers a wide range of activities from dance games to archery.
Movie night with popcorn or rock and rhythms
Maunula House offers great fun for the autumn break from Monday to Friday. Get ready for a relaxing movie night with popcorn and a band night with rock and rhythms.
