Youth Activity Center Silmu

Welcome to Silmu!

Youth Activity Centre Silmu provides free-of-charge activities for young people. Our small groups, workshops and events cover subjects such as hiking, cooking, art, animal care and job seeking. The premises also feature the Wempaimisto camping equipment loan centre for young people and the 4H Association of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.

Our premises are a 5-minute walk from the Tripla shopping centre on the Itä-Pasila side. You can find us on the street level of the building next to the Konepaja area. The Sähköttäjä dog park is located in front of our main doors.

Looking for an environment-related hobby?

Silmu provides a wide range of activities for young people aged 10–25 and young adults.

The small groups and courses are tailored to the age and interests of the participants. Because we have limited room for participants, we always request advance registration. You can find all ongoing small groups and courses in our activity calendar, which you can find on the Finnish version of this website. Because the activity calendar is updated weekly, it is unfortunately only available in Finnish. If you need more detailed information on the activities in other languages, feel free to contact our instructors.

All young people are welcome to participate in events at Silmu without advance registration, and activities such as our pet cafés welcome the whole family. We also advertise our events in our activity calendar and on social media.

Would you like to go camping but you have no backpack and camp stove?

No worries, the Wempaimisto camping equipment loan centre for young people will serve you in our premises.
