HUM Munkkiniemi
HUM Munkkiniemi (previously known as the MD-Studio) is a legendary part of Helsinki’s music scene.
HUM Munkkiniemi serves young people from Helsinki with good quality. Many young people have “made it” into the music field through us. The studio’s operation is based on the staff helping you get started and guiding you to get to know the ins and outs of the music world and studio work. The service is free for under 25s.
The MD-Studio, which operated at Munkkiniemi Youth Centre, was founded in 1992. Since then, it has played an undisputed role in Helsinki’s music circles. Cultural youth work in Munkkiniemi is chilled but serious. Both new and more experienced artists have enjoyed using the compact and well-equipped studio. Successful performers, such as HIM, Amorphis and Von Hertzen Brothers, have talked about their positive experiences there. The studio continues to welcome both more experienced and new bands and artists working on their debut demo.
