Game development

Game development is a form of art that results in a playable game. The developer of the game can be a coder, a graphic artist, a musician, a designer or even all of these!

Game development is most often done in groups, where different members have different roles. Game events usually last a couple of days, during which a game is usually created on a given topic.

Game development activities are organised by Finnish Game Jam, which holds such events all year round. Every summer, the City of Helsinki, in cooperation with the University of Helsinki, organises programming camps for young people aged 9-17-years-old who are interested in programming.
