Explore the Youth Budget proposals!

Young people have developed proposals together in the Youth Budget workshops on how Youth Services funding should be used and how the lives and well-being of young people in Helsinki could be improved. The local proposals related to young people’s leisure time are now moving forward to the next phase of the Youth Budget process, the voting stage.

Voting will take place from 5 to 30 October 2026. Check the voting events in your local area here: nuorten.hel.fi/take-part-and-make-a-difference/youth-budget/voting

During the workshops, young people have been able to develop both small and large proposals. Some proposals have been taken forward through youth initiatives, for example when the ideas concern all of Helsinki or when it has been determined that the proposal cannot be funded through Youth Services resources. Some of the proposals directly concern organisations such as schools, the police, libraries, or shopping centres. These proposals will be promoted in cooperation with young people and the relevant organisations responsible for them.

In November, young people will negotiate with Youth Services on how the proposals that received the most votes will be implemented in practice and how the Youth Budget’s €150,000 will be allocated among the proposals.
