Vartiosaari Stable
Starting in 2027, the Youth Services Unit of the Environmental Activities will have a new addition to its bookable facilities: the Vartiosaari Stable. The stable can be booked for use during the summer season from May 1 to September 30. The stable is located along the nature trail that circles the island, near the community garden plots. The stable, steeped in history, has previously hosted the Youth Services’ own summer activities. The stable offers an excellent setting, for example, as a base for day camps or excursions.
A service counter-style structure has been built next to the stable, which can be used, for example, to host a summer café or small events. The renter is responsible for obtaining the necessary permits and managing waste disposal.
The stable’s grounds are beautiful and natural in the summer. The grounds feature two outdoor restrooms, a water tap, and a barn building that can be reserved separately. The barn includes a small performance stage, and the space is suitable for hosting dances, for example. For more information on booking the barn as part of other activities, please contact the staff of the Environmental Activities Youth Work Unit.
The stable’s interior can accommodate about 15 people at a time, but the yard can hold more. This makes the stable a great option for organizing day camps, field trips, or small-scale summer events.
Stable amenities:
– Suitable for e.g., day camps and excursions
– A stable with a separate barn building available for booking on the grounds
– The stable’s kitchen includes a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, but no tableware
– Two outdoor toilets and a water tap on the grounds
– Summer water (note: no hot water)
– Power outlets
– No overnight accommodation available
The stable can be booked for use starting in summer 2027 and beyond. You can find booking instructions and information on the Youth Work Unit’s facility booking pages.
