An evening of crime novels at the Kallio Library on 7 December at 18:00 – Vainajat eivät vaikene
Description
The book ‘Vainajat eivät vaikene’ (The Dead Won’t Stay Silent) begins the ‘Mortuí non silent’ series of crime novels depicting the murder investigations of Detective Senior Sergeant Ville Karila and Forensic Pathologist Viola Kaario.
Rainio and Rautaheimo have penned an unabashedly nostalgic murder mystery firmly couched in expert descriptions of the work of police investigators and forensic pathologists. Representing the “cozy crime” genre, the novel tips its hat to the Helsinki presented in the old Inspector Palmu books, creates a wonderful Christmas atmosphere and pits the heroes against a faceless murderer who seems to stay one grim step ahead of the police at all times.
Come enjoy interviews with the new stars of the Finnish crime novel scene to hear about the birth of the characters of Detective Senior Sergeant Karila and Forensic Pathologist Kaario and the first Mortuí non silent book. The authors will also talk about the cooperation between the editor and the police during the writing process. The interviewer will be Leena Korsumäki from Suomen Dekkariseura ry.
Evening of crime novels in the Kupolisali of the Kallio Library on Tuesday 7 December 2021 at 18:00. Free admission, we look forward to your visit! The event will be streamed live on the Kallio Library’s Facebook page, where a recording will also remain available for later viewing: https://www.facebook.com/kirjastokallio/live
