Tehdään Helsingistä mukavampi paikka nuorille!

Introduction

I’m funny, motivated, honest and relaxed. I would like to reduce bullying in schools and in leisure time. I think it should be safe for young people to move around in Helsinki and they should have more influence in Helsinki matters. Young people’s opinions should be heard more.

Hobbies: In my spare time, I like to spend time at my local youth centre, watch TV shows, listen to music and draw.

Answers to the election machine

Schools should have more days during which they only serve vegetarian food.

Because I personally eat more meat than vegetarian dishes.

Schools should focus on grouping more extensively than now.

Because it is done less than it should be. I think that grouping teaches interaction skills and helps everyone work with each other in groups.

Distance learning needs to be established as a permanent learning method in addition to contact teaching.

I think that it should not become an established practice because it is easier to ask for help and understand things face to face than it is remotely.

The competitiveness of young people’s sports activities should be reduced.

I think that this depends on the person. Some young people like to compete a lot, while others want to reduce it.

The City of Helsinki should primarily offer summer jobs to those young people who do not yet have work experience.

I think yes, because this allows young people to gain experience and earn their first own money.

The public spaces in Helsinki should maintain the division between women’s and men’s toilets.

If there is a toilet facility with at least four stalls, it should be kept as a girls’/boys’ toilet, but if there is only one toilet, it should be a gender-neutral toilet.

Helsinki should start offering free public transport to those under 18.

I think yes, because low-income families do not necessarily have much money to buy bus tickets for their children.

It would be better if there were no e-scooters in Helsinki.

Yes, because people leave them lying around on footpaths and they can cause accidents.

For a member of the Youth Council, pushing their own goals through is a more important quality than agreeing on compromises.

This depends completely on the situation. You do not want to compromise on everything, but I think that compromising is also a good thing.

On which topics would you like the Youth Council to focus, in particular? Select the three that are the most important to you.

Because these are the most important matters to me.
