In many cases, grouping can help and encourage students to get to know each other, but it is also good to maintain the natural aspect of forming friendships.

 

Distance learning needs to be established as a permanent learning method in addition to contact teaching.

Distance learning and contact teaching both have their pros and cons. Distance learning can be used when necessary, but contact teaching allows for more learning styles and opportunities that benefit everyone.

 

The competitiveness of young people’s sports activities should be reduced.

Competitiveness in sports should be individual. Everyone has their own limits.

 

The City of Helsinki should primarily offer summer jobs to those young people who do not yet have work experience.

The City of Helsinki should not limit opportunities. Summer jobs should be offered on an almost equal basis, so that the majority of capable people get what they want.

 

The public spaces in Helsinki should maintain the division between women’s and men’s toilets.

Gender-neutral toilets would drive equality forward, and more people would feel part of society.
Small things can make a big difference.

 

Helsinki should start offering free public transport to those under 18.

Free public transport would benefit less well-off families, for example, but funding transport for all young people in Helsinki would limit other actions.

 

It would be better if there were no e-scooters in Helsinki.

Everyone is responsible for themselves and their actions. E-scooters can cause accidents, but they also make life easier for many people.

 

For a member of the Youth Council, pushing their own goals through is a more important quality than agreeing on compromises.

Youth Council members need to be able to promote their own issues, but things will not go very far without cooperation.
