Äänestä Mark olet mukana tekemässä turvallisempaa Helsinkiä!

Introduction

I’m Mark and I’m standing as a candidate in the Youth Council elections because I want to make Helsinki a safer city for children and young people. More security guards at Malmi in the evenings. I would like to promote night-time safety. Drug-use in public places should be reduced. Heavily intoxicated people create insecurity in public transport.

My hobbies include scouting in Siltamäki and Taekwondo in Pasila.

Answers to the election machine

Schools should have more days during which they only serve vegetarian food.

It would be good for everyone to also eat vegetarian food at least once a week.

Schools should focus on grouping more extensively than now.

Young people get to know each other better, and groups have more knowledge combined than one person alone.

Distance learning needs to be established as a permanent learning method in addition to contact teaching.

Some people only see their friends at school, and it is easier for young people to learn at school with the help of a teacher.

The competitiveness of young people’s sports activities should be reduced.

Competition can be offered as an option for competitive people.

The City of Helsinki should primarily offer summer jobs to those young people who do not yet have work experience.

It would be good for everyone to have a little work experience before getting a proper job.

The public spaces in Helsinki should maintain the division between women’s and men’s toilets.

I think that women and men’s toilets should be retained. This is because it is better to allow men to use a urinal in men’s toilets.

Helsinki should start offering free public transport to those under 18.

Not everyone has their own ticket, so it would be good for public transport to be free for everyone.

It would be better if there were no e-scooters in Helsinki.

E-scooters could be limited to a lower speed at weekends, but they do not cause as much inconvenience on weekdays.

For a member of the Youth Council, pushing their own goals through is a more important quality than agreeing on compromises.

Cooperation is better for everyone.

On which topics would you like the Youth Council to focus, in particular? Select the three that are the most important to you.

Schools and education; Urban environment and transport; Safety

In my opinion, the focus should be on these three areas, as they are the most important areas for young people.
