Pressa tuo valoa Helsinkiin.

Introduction

An upper comprehensive school student who loves politics. I currently live, and will always live, in Pukinmäki. I’m known as Pressa, because I’m pretty well-known. I’m a positive person. Some may say I’m too positive, but that’s okay, because life shall prevail. I stood as a candidate, because I want to make a difference, and I know I can always be trusted.

Hobbies: I like to read books, draw and paint in my spare time. Sleeping is my number one hobby.

Answers to the election machine

Schools should have more days during which they only serve vegetarian food.

Schools should serve both vegetarian food and meat dishes, not just one or the other. The pupils themselves should be able to decide what to eat. I’m sure everyone knows to take some salad on their plate. Eating vegetables is important, but people shouldn’t be forced to do it.

Schools should focus on grouping more extensively than now.

Group working allows people to get to know each other better and develop their social skills. It is better to work on assignment together than to agonise over them alone. It should also be made sure that there is no discrimination in the group.

Distance learning needs to be established as a permanent learning method in addition to contact teaching.

Help for assignments is more readily available in contact teaching. Teachers prefer to help pupils face to face, rather than behind a screen. No one wants to stare at a screen for hours on end, doing assignments. Distance learning should only be used when there is a need for it.

The competitiveness of young people’s sports activities should be reduced.

The competitiveness of sports activities should neither be reduced nor increased. The purpose of hobbies is to get friends and have fun. Competing is always allowed, of course, as long as it does not take away the joy and take up too much time.

The City of Helsinki should primarily offer summer jobs to those young people who do not yet have work experience.

It is good if summer jobs were primarily given to those who have not had work experience. It’s fairer if everyone has some work experience. It is better to give others one than two to someone else.

The public spaces in Helsinki should maintain the division between women’s and men’s toilets.

Everyone should have their own private space. Some are not yet ready for shared toilets, and that is understandable. Girls and boys have their own personal matters that they want to deal with in peace and this should be respected.

Helsinki should start offering free public transport to those under 18.

It would be good if minors could use public transport free of charge, since it would make their lives easier. Tickets cost a lot of money, and not everyone can afford to pay for them. This would keep your wallet happy.

It would be better if there were no e-scooters in Helsinki.

E-scooters are a threat to safety. People use them how they please and leave scooters lying around everywhere. It would be better if they were gone, as this would help prevent accidents.

For a member of the Youth Council, pushing their own goals through is a more important quality than agreeing on compromises.

People have voted for you for your goals and to bring up their opinions. Compromises are also important in the Youth Council and should not be forgotten. All work starts with cooperation.

On which topics would you like the Youth Council to focus, in particular? Select the three that are the most important to you.

Climate change and nature conservation; Equal opportunities and equality; Leisure time and recreation

I hope that the Youth Council will focus on youth well-being, climate change and equality. These matters are very important and need to be improved further. We young people are the future, and we should deal with these since decision-makers cannot do their jobs.
