Introduction

My name is Ilmori Fajt. I’m a 14-year-old boy who loves maths and physics. I decided to run for the Youth Council because I want to have a positive impact on Helsinki.

Answers to the election machine

Schools should have more days during which they only serve vegetarian food.

Vegetarian food is healthier and more climate-friendly than meat-based foods.

Schools should focus on grouping more extensively than now.

What is wrong with getting to know others?

Distance learning needs to be established as a permanent learning method in addition to contact teaching.

Some variety to traditional school methods, it’s not bad.

The competitiveness of young people’s sports activities should be reduced.

I know that some like competitiveness because it helps them get better while others stress over it too much, that is why I don’t want to comment.

The City of Helsinki should primarily offer summer jobs to those young people who do not yet have work experience.

It is fair to give a chance to those who have not yet had the chance.

The public spaces in Helsinki should maintain the division between women’s and men’s toilets.

I don’t have an opinion on this.

Helsinki should start offering free public transport to those under 18.

The price should definitely be reduced by at least half, but to make it completely free? That doesn’t sound good.

It would be better if there were no e-scooters in Helsinki.

There is nothing wrong with e-scooters, the problem are the reckless drivers, so e-scooters should have much higher age limits and the maximum speed should be lowered.

For a member of the Youth Council, pushing their own goals through is a more important quality than agreeing on compromises.

Without opinions nothing will change.
