Kaikkien nuorten puolesta!

Introduction

My goal is to reduce bullying at school and promote young people’s safety and safety in general. I want to participate in decision-making related to matters that are important to young people and I also want to promote these matters. I’m currently a member of my school’s student association board and have been a member of the school board, so I’m definitely interested in influencing!

Hobbies: I’m a member of the volunteer fire brigade, scout and basketball player.

Schools should have more days during which they only serve vegetarian food.

School food should be served so that ‘normal’ food and vegetarian food have different serving lines, not just one line like our school now has.

Schools should focus on grouping more extensively than now.

There is a LOT OF bullying in my class, and that is NOT good. I think bullies should be kept in line, and a grouping day could be one way to do this.

Distance learning needs to be established as a permanent learning method in addition to contact teaching.

For the teacher, it can be harder or easier. If there are any tests, they can check them automatically, and if a pupil is off sick, the teacher can still contact them via Teams or Classrooms, for example. However, the pupil doesn’t necessarily have all the books at home, which is bad.

The competitiveness of young people’s sports activities should be reduced.

I don’t think it should be reduced, as there is no point in hockey or football, etc. if you cannot go to tournaments or games.

The City of Helsinki should primarily offer summer jobs to those young people who do not yet have work experience.

I think everyone should have the chance to try, because having some work experience does not mean that you are fully qualified, etc. I think everyone should have equal opportunities to get work!

The public spaces in Helsinki should maintain the division between women’s and men’s toilets.

I think toilets should be made gender-neutral in all public facilities so that the representatives of all genders can use them and there would be no separate toilets for men and women!

Helsinki should start offering free public transport to those under 18.

I think it should be that all children under school-age can ride a bus free of charge, and then everyone from the first grade up should pay the basic bus fee to embark. Everyone with a school journey longer than 3 kilometres should get a bus card from the school.

It would be better if there were no e-scooters in Helsinki.

I think there should be an age limit for the e-scooters, e.g. 15 years, and the app should require filling in your ID information so that the ride can be paid and so that young people would consider their own safety and not fool around on the scooters.

For a member of the Youth Council, pushing their own goals through is a more important quality than agreeing on compromises.

I think compromises are better than just wanting your own thing. Not everything revolves around oneself, others can and SHOULD be listened to and their ideas should not be shot down!

On which topics would you like the Youth Council to focus, in particular? Select the three that are the most important to you.

Young people’s influencing opportunities; Safety; Healthcare and mental health

On safety, health and education. On safety so that young people would understand their own safety. On health, because not everyone is doing well and it would be good if the school can help and support them. On education, because people use internet a lot more today, so it would be better if there were more digital teaching and the school would offer laptops to the pupils.
