Tapanilan Erä ry. organises youth center activities at the Tapanila Sports Centre in co-operation with the City of Helsinki.
The primary visitors to Tapanila Youth Centre are local young people. Most go to Hiidenkivi Comprehensive School, which is one of the largest schools in Helsinki with its roughly 740 pupils. 3rd–9th graders from the school come to engage in physical activity on the lower floor of our youth centre, in the facilities of our partner, Tapanila Sports Centre. Our second local school is Tapanila Comprehensive School, Lower Stage.
Our general principle is that young people themselves plan, develop and implement activities at the youth centre and in the local area with support from the youth workers. The youth centre’s activities are guided by the shared values and objectives agreed upon with Youth Services.
