LYKE network
The Finnish Association of Nature and Environment Schools, LYKE, founded in 2007, works to promote nature and environmental education for children and young people. The main goal of the activity is to support the strengthening of the relationship between children and young people and the learning of a sustainable lifestyle.
The association coordinates and develops the national LYKE network. We organise training meetings for the network, implement communication and carry out active advocacy work to promote nature and environmental school activities & environmental education. We develop the quality of nature and environmental school activities through a certification and auditing system. We maintain and develop nationwide operating models to support the environmental education of children and young people: e.g. Mappa.fi material bank and the Ulos – Ut – Out! -out major learning event.
The association’s local activities take place in the LYKE network’s offices, which offer nature and environmental school activities for groups of children and young people, as well as training for teachers and educators.
You can find out more about the activities in 2020 here (in Finnish).
