Youth Pride Week is here again: Youth Pride House moves to Cultural Centre Caisa

Youth Pride Week for members of sexual and gender minorities and those pondering their own identity will once again take place in Helsinki on 23–29 June 2025. The aim of Youth Pride Week is to improve wellbeing among young people, prevent loneliness and boost young people’s self-esteem. The event week is organised by the Helsinki Pride Community and the City of Helsinki.

Youth Pride House operates out of Caisa

Young people can enjoy a diverse programme of events, most of which will be held at the Youth Pride House intended for young people aged 13–25. This year, Youth Pride House will be at Cultural Centre Caisa.

Young people will be able to enjoy a variety of free-of-charge events, such as games, performances, workshops and hang-out evenings. The programme at the Youth Pride House is provided by the Helsinki Pride Community with various youth sector operators, such as the City of Helsinki Youth Services and youth organisations.

Helsinki Pride Community and the City of Helsinki emphasise the importance of cooperation

“It is great that we can work together with the City of Helsinki to put on a week to remember where young people can meet each other, make new friends, spend time in a safe environment and participate in a varied programme. With the help of this event, we will be presenting different operators in the youth sector to young people,” says Helsinki Pride Community Executive Director Annu Kemppainen.

The City of Helsinki Youth Services also sees the value of cooperation. “It is important for young people to find places that support their growth and the development of their self-esteem. Youth is a time for thinking about things and youth services want to be a part of this. We want to celebrate Pride Week, in particular, because it is a major human rights event and emphasises the importance of equality and equity to everyone,” says District Manager Tiina Hörkkö from the City of Helsinki Youth Services.

Youth Pride House intended for young people only

You can come to Youth Pride House to just hang out or craft together, for example. Participating in any events is always voluntary, and we abide by the principles of safer spaces. Youth Pride House is only intended for 13–25-year-olds. Employees from the Helsinki Pride Community and the City of Helsinki Youth Services, along with security personnel, will be present at all times. Adults can bring their children to the door and ask the employees for a chat at the entrance, if they wish.
