Youth Budget 2.0 – Join us in creating a better Helsinki
In the Youth Budget, young people get to influence the types of activities and events organized for youth in Helsinki. The Youth Budget proceeds annually in five stages: 1) survey, 2) brainstorming ideas in workshops, 3) voting on proposals in schools, 4) negotiations at youth centers, and 5) implementing the proposals.
For ten years, the Youth Budget has been a way for Helsinki’s youth services to plan and implement activities together with young people. But does it still work? What could be improved? Are the Youth Budget workshops appealing to everyone? Does brainstorming and voting inspire participation? How can even more young people get involved in developing the city and recreational activities? What are your experiences with participating, and what would you do differently?
Join the workshop on Thursday, December 12, from 4-6 pm in Vallila, and come help shape the future of the Youth Budget! There’s room for the first 20 young people to sign up (ages approximately 13-17). Snacks will be provided, and participants will receive a movie ticket as a thank-you.
