The renewed Jässäri makes participating in activities easier
The membership card for youth centers, commonly known as Jässäri in Finnish, is getting an upgrade! The old plastic card is being replaced by a convenient online registration for membership. With the new Jässäri, you can receive information about the events and activities at your nearest youth center directly to your phone. Parents will also stay more informed, as the messaging feature allows them to subscribe to updates from the youth center.
With the new Jässäri, you can participate in youth center activities, hobbies, and events. To activate Jässäri, a parent or guardian must register the membership for anyone under 18 years old using strong identification. Those over 18 can register on their own.
All residents of Helsinki are eligible for Jässäri. Once registration is completed, the doors of the youth centers are open! There are over 60 youth centers and activity spots in Helsinki, so there’s plenty of choices. Helsinki’s youth services provide guided activities for children as young as 9 years old. Anyone up to the age of 29 can apply for Jässäri. All activities at the youth centers are supervised by professionals in youth work.
With Jässäri, you can access music studios, art groups, and take advantage of the wide range of games and events offered at the youth centers. There are also courses and camps available, and as a Jässäri holder, you can even apply for project funding or organize your own event!
