July full of fun for young people – regardless of weather
The best summer holiday activities in Helsinki will continue in July with free and varied activities for young people around the city. These activities include events, camps, excursions and workshops.
Youth centres offer relaxed shared activities and a place for hanging out. You can also meet with youth workers every day, both about the city and at the Swimming Stadium.
Both the Swimming Stadium and the Kumpula Outdoor Swimming Pool offer free entry to young people with the Jässäri membership card. Free pop-up swimming schools will be held at beaches and outdoor swimming pools throughout the summer.
Youth summer cafés are a great way to spend a relaxed summer day with treats and activities designed by young people themselves.
Exercise and play
NutaFudis youth centre football is available in Kannelmäki, Myllypuro, Mellunkylä and Vuosaari. NutaFudis welcomes all young people to play football with youth workers. You can find more details on the Youth Helsinki website and on the youth centres’ own Instagram accounts.
The Savela Skate Park is also a great place to get some exercise and learn a new hobby. The skateboard container, run by summer workers, is open on weekdays from 11:00 to 17:30 (closed on 4 July). At the Pihlajamäki Youth Park’s freestyle park you can rent kick scooters, skateboards, BMX bikes, protective gear and helmets. All you need is a happy mood and a water bottle to enjoy this safe way of learning for beginners, the variety of guided activities on offer and the fun competitions.
If digital gaming is your thing this summer, welcome to Maunula Youth House’s flaming hot July gaming activities. From Monday to Friday between 13:00 and 20:00, young people will have supervised access to gaming computers, consoles and board games.
