Get your Jässäri-membership and stay informed
The Helsinki Youth Services membership card, better known as Jässäri in Finnish, is getting a makeover! The old plastic card is becoming history, replaced by a convenient online membership registration. With the new Jässäri, you and your guardian will receive information about events and activities at your nearest youth center straight to your phone – no more fear of missing out on anything!
With the new Jässäri, you can participate in activities, hobbies, and events at youth centers. To start using Jässäri, your guardian will need to register your membership with strong identification if you’re under 18, so a bit of adult involvement is needed at first. Those over 18 can register themselves. If the registration isn’t done, you’ll miss out on all the fun, and that would be a real shame.
This update improves the flow of information. Where before, news about events and pizza nights spread through friends, now you’ll get all the details conveniently via message to your phone. No more worrying about missing out!
Information now travels faster, and no one will hear about events only after they’ve already happened. Parents will also stay better informed, as they can subscribe to receive messages from the youth center directly.
The Jässäri is available for all 13–29-year-olds living in Helsinki. Once registration is complete, the doors to the youth centers are wide open!
With Jässäri, you’ll have access to music studios, art groups, and the wide range of games and events at youth centers. There are also courses and camps available, and as a Jässäri holder, you can even apply for project grants or organize your own event!
Helsinki has over 60 youth centers and activity spots, so there’s plenty to choose from. All activities at the youth centers are led by professional youth workers.
