Book youth spaces free of charge for your own activities
Are you looking for a space for a group of friends to share a hobby, for your association to have a meeting or for regular board game evenings, for example? Would you like to start your own hobby group, but don’t have the space?
In connection with youth centres in different parts of the city, you will find many kinds of spaces that can be booked free of charge by youth groups and associations. Youth centres house multifunctional spaces, meeting rooms, craft and art spaces, studios, kitchen premises, halls and sports facilities for a wide range of recreational and other activities. You can book a space free of charge with modern and functional meeting technology, or a space where you can cook and eat, for example. Check out the available spaces at Varaamo.
Please note that in April you can apply for spaces for regular activities lasting at least three months. At Varaamo, you can book the city’s spaces and equipment for individual events all year round.
Apply for a season booking by 30 April in Varaamo
The application period for the season booking of youth centres, playgrounds, schools and Helsinki’s community houses for autumn 2026 and spring 2027 starts on 1 April 2026 at 9:00 and ends on 30 April 2026 at 16:00.
Apply for a season booking easily at varaamo.hel.fi/seasonbooking. The applicant and the person in charge of the use of the space must be 18 or older. You can submit all your season booking requests with a single application. By indicating multiple spaces and time slots, you will improve your chances of getting the spaces and times you want. A Season Booking Info Session will be held on April 9, 2026, at 16-17.30 at the City Hall. The event begins with coffee service. Please register for the information session here (in Finnish). Welcome!
Our staff are happy to provide more information about the spaces available for booking and help with any questions you may have about applying. The applicants will be informed of the decisions by the end of May 2026.
