Varaamo offers spaces and equipment for various activities
Are you looking for a meeting, event, work or leisure time space? Do you need a sewing machine or would you like to try 3D printing?
The City of Helsinki’s space booking system Varaamo offers plenty of spaces and equipment available for free or at an affordable price. Booking is made easy at varaamo.hel.fi/en.
Suitable spaces for group work, association meetings, children’s birthday parties and other events may be found literally next door. Many residents already know about the meeting and group work rooms available in libraries and youth centres. Varaamo studio and band facilities and rooms for digital gaming are particularly popular.
Varaamo offers a wide range of event venues. You can organise events for a few dozen people e.g. in the library auditorium, youth centre multi-purpose room or school cafeteria. You can book park areas, squares or open-air stages for outdoor events for up to 200 people in Varaamo without having to apply for a permit.
During the summer season, residents of Helsinki can book cottages, meeting villas, tents and saunas in Varaamo for leisure time activities. The City’s outdoor tennis courts can also be booked in Varaamo, meaning that you can avoid the queues.
In addition to spaces, different devices, musical instruments and pieces of equipment can be booked in Varaamo. You can digitise photographs as well as use a 3D printer, sewing machine and other equipment in many libraries around the city. Residents can use equipment free of charge, with the exception of material and printing fees.
