During the autumn break, we watch Finnish films based on children’s books at Annantalo Holiday Cinema.

Holiday Cinema is part of the Children’s Book Festival, which is held at Annantalo from 7 October 2026 to 27 February 2027. The Children’s Book Festival celebrates children’s picture books and reading through an exhibition, author visits, workshops and events.

The film screenings are free of charge; no advance registration required. Please arrive in good time, as we will let the audience in on a first-come, first-served basis. The film screenings have a limited number of seats, and we will admit groups where possible.

Ricky Rapper and the Doppelganger

Is there a double of Ricky in town? Ricky spots a boy who looks exactly like him. Ricky and Nelly decide to find out if the boy is a double, a shadow self, or maybe even an impostor.

Why has Aunt Rauha been so mysterious, hiding a photo album? And what about Fanny the Freezer, the spiders, and the family's lost ring – how do they all fit into this? Ricky and Nelly find a clue and decide to uncover the secret that leads them on a big nighttime adventure to Kurjenkallio.

The leading roles are played by Aleksi Johansson as Ricky Rapper and Alma Järvensivu as Nelly Noodlehead. The other leading roles, Lennart Lindberg and Fanny the Freezer, are played by Ylermi Rajamaa and Jenni Kokander, while Iina Kuustonen plays Aunt Rauha. The film, written by Tiina and Emma Nopola, is directed by Samuel Harjanne. The music is composed by Kerkko Koskinen, with lyrics by Matias Nopola.
