Combining heavy riffs with rap, Lähiöbotox released their new album Surullinen tapaus – sellaista on vapaus in November 2024 (Ranka Kustannus). Alongside touring, the band's year was also marked by the premiere of their documentary series African Metal Tour on YLE. Formed in 2018 in Roihupelto, eastern Helsinki, Lähiöbotox made a strong impression on Finland's metal scene with their debut album Rikkinäinen Suomi, and their second album Itä-Metal took them to nearly all major rock festivals in the country. The band has become one of the most closely followed acts in metal, earning Emma Award nominations for Metal of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
