Description

By popular demand, the hugely popular author Satu Rämö is coming to Kanneltalo's hall!

The event will feature a discussion about Rämö's successful Hildur series, especially the latest instalment Rakel (WSOY, 2024).

Detective Hildur Rúnarsdóttir's life has finally settled into a peaceful routine. She has returned from a surfing holiday in Hawaii, and the Westfjords have been calm. Jakob Johanson is also happy, although his son's adjustment to life in Iceland has not been without challenges. Hildur makes regular visits to a retirement home to see her family friend Helga. As they revisit old memories, new and surprising revelations about Rakel, Hildur's mother, begin to surface.

The renovation of Hildur's childhood home progresses, until the worst possible secret comes to light. Meanwhile, a cruise ship carrying massive crowds of tourists arrives in summery Ísafjörður, bringing problems that put Hildur's sense of justice to the test.

Satu Rämö (b. 1980) is an Iceland-based author and economist. The Hildur series has been an extraordinary success on every scale. The world of Hildur has expanded to television and theatre stages, and the series' translation rights have been sold to over twenty countries, including Germany, the UK, France and all the Nordic countries.

Satu Rämö will be interviewed by author and journalist Esa Mäkijärvi.

In cooperation with Helsinki Adult Education Centre and Kannelmäki Library.
