Canoeing in Vartiosaari

Description

In July, the Environmental Activities Youth Work Unit will provide canoeing training and short canoeing trips from the Stocka canoeing shore on Vartiosaari.

 Prior experience is not required, as we will arrange our trips based on each group’s interests and capabilities. On the trips, we will learn about different kinds of canoeing equipment and how they behave in marine conditions. We will also go over canoeing technique with the equipment. Time and weather permitting, we can also look into equipment maintenance. We recommend bringing a towel and a change of clothes, as well as a water bottle.

In summer, you can access Vartiosaari by the Aurinkolautta ferry from Laajasalo (Reposalmentie 2). We will gather at the Vartiosaari forest church and walk to the Stocka shore together. You can find the forest church on Google Maps.
