The Helsinki summer is much the same length as the outdoor swimming season. So summer starts in May and continues all the way to September. Of course, you can splash around, sunbathe, dive and take a sauna, but you can also get fit at both of them with basketball, beach volleyball, outdoor gym and even table tennis. Hunger won’t creep up on you either with cafés at both venues offering varied menus. 

The Swimming Stadium and Kumpula outdoor swimming pool – the “summer cottages” of the people of Helsinki – come rain or shine.
